Not sure where to start? Whether you're dealing with pain, recovering from an injury, preparing for competition, or simply wondering if Somatic Sports Therapy is the right fit for you, this appointment provides a comprehensive assessment and personalized recommendations to help you move forward with confidence.
This consultation is ideal for individuals seeking a professional evaluation before committing to treatment or for those looking for expert guidance on improving movement, reducing pain, and supporting long-term recovery. For some, a few targeted exercises and movement strategies may be all that's needed. Others may benefit from continued consultations or follow-up treatment sessions to further restore movement and function.
During your consultation, we'll discuss your health history, previous injuries, current symptoms, training, lifestyle, and goals while assessing posture, movement quality, mobility, neuromuscular control, and functional movement patterns. Brief hands-on assessment techniques may be incorporated when appropriate to better understand how your body moves and responds.
Rather than focusing solely on where symptoms are felt, this assessment evaluates movement patterns, muscle activation, mobility restrictions, and compensatory strategies that may be contributing to pain, dysfunction, or decreased performance.
Following your assessment, you'll receive individualized recommendations tailored to your specific needs. These may include somatic neuromuscular re-education exercises, corrective movement strategies, mobility training, recovery recommendations, activity modifications, and a Personalized Home Somatic Exercise Program designed to reinforce healthy movement patterns. When appropriate, guidance may also be provided to help you better understand and perform exercises prescribed by your physical therapist or other healthcare providers as part of your overall recovery plan.
This service is designed to complement the care you're already receiving. It can work alongside orthopedic care, physical therapy, chiropractic care, strength and conditioning, coaching, or other healthcare professionals by helping you better understand your movement patterns and improve how you perform your prescribed exercises and recovery strategies. If you're not currently working with another provider, this service can also serve as the foundation for your ongoing care with Somatic Sports Therapy.
Your assessment also serves as a foundation for future care. Some individuals leave with a personalized home program and the confidence to continue independently. Others choose to schedule periodic follow-up consultations to reassess progress, refine their exercise program, and continue building on their results. When appropriate, your assessment may also lead to individualized Somatic Sports Therapy treatment sessions to further support recovery, performance, and long-term movement health.
Assessment Options:
30-Minute Assessment & Consultation
Ideal for a focused evaluation of a specific concern, second opinion, follow-up consultation, review of an existing rehabilitation plan, or progression of your Personalized Home Somatic Exercise Program.
60-Minute Assessment & Consultation
Recommended for comprehensive movement evaluations, multiple concerns, more complex cases, individualized exercise instruction, development of a Personalized Home Somatic Exercise Program, and detailed treatment or recovery planning.

Somatic Neuromuscular Therapy is a results-driven, hands-on modality that blends somatic muscle re-education with instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM), gua sha, cupping, and scraping. Each session draws from these techniques as needed to address your body’s unique presentation—retraining neuromuscular patterns, releasing fascial restrictions, and restoring efficient movement.
This approach helps reduce pain, improve posture, and promote long-term functional balance by working at the intersection of the nervous system and connective tissue.
Ideal for athletes and active individuals seeking to optimize performance, restore balance, and recover from chronic tension or repetitive stress. Sessions are tailored to each client’s activity level and goals.
You may wear comfortable, minimal activewear or loose clothing to allow full mobility. When cupping or instrument-assisted techniques are utilized, organic jojoba oil or handcrafted balm with essential oils is applied to support glide and optimal tissue response.
Expect progressive improvements in movement, comfort, and alignment over one or several sessions as your nervous system resets and fascia realigns.
-
This service integrates cupping (silicone or hard-cup), scraping (Scout Therapy), and gua sha as either a focused spot-treatment or full-body session. These instrument-assisted methods gently lift, release, and smooth soft tissue layers, enhancing circulation, lymphatic flow, and recovery.
Sessions can address restricted mobility, chronic tightness, fascial adhesions, or post-training soreness. Clients often experience improved movement, reduced inflammation, and overall tissue renewal.
Therapeutic oils or balms — including organic jojoba and handcrafted essential-oil blends — are used to enhance glide and comfort. Pressure and intensity are always adjusted to meet your needs.
